IIAC » Caffè Umbria Offers Espresso Tasting Seminars in Collaboration with the International Institute of Coffee Tasters during Seattle Coffee Fest Weekend

Caffè Umbria is collaborating once again with the Istituto Internazionale Assaggiatori Caffè (International Institute of Coffee Tasters) to provide courses designed to teach how to evaluate the quality of Italian espresso. The IIAC is a non-profit association, founded with the intent of developing and implementing a scientific method to give a measurable value to the sensory value of coffee. This is a great opportunity to bring your espresso knowledge to the next level. Courses will be held in Seattle during the weekend of Coffee Fest.

Carlo Odello

The courses will be taught by Carlo Odello, trainer, board member and the Director of Communication for the International Institute of Coffee Tasters (IIAC). Mr. Odello is also the Communications Manager for the Italian Espresso National Institute and a board member of the Taster Study Center, the most advanced Italian company in sensory analysis.

Espresso Italiano TastingEspresso Italiano Tasting 1/2 Day Seminar
This 3-hour seminar is designed as an introduction to the fundamentals of coffee tasting using three Caffè Umbria blends. It includes instruction on the sensory analysis of espresso, how the senses work, and the basics of coffee tasting. The instructional period is followed by a training tasting session, where you will receive hands-on training in the tasting and judging of espresso quality using three Caffè Umbria blends.

Courses will be held in Seattle on Saturday, October 30th and Sunday, October 31st from 9:30am - 12:30pm. To register for these courses, please download and complete the registration form.
